Uptown Dance offers dance lessons primarily in ballet in a nurturing and professional environment. Uptown Dance is an inclusive school, we believe there is a spot for everyone at the barre ages 2 through adult. We are located in the heart of Uptown Normal in a historic building at 114 W. North St.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you accept?
We welcome dancers from ages 2 through adult. Whether your child is taking their very first dance class or you're an experienced dancer looking to continue training, we offer classes for every stage of the journey.
Do students need previous dance experience?
Not at all. We proudly work with both beginners and experienced dancers. Our instructors meet each student where they are and help them grow at their own pace.
What dance styles do you offer?
We specialize in classical ballet and offer hip-hop, jazz, and tap classes, all of which include performance opportunities and technique-based instruction designed to build confidence, artistry, and discipline.
What should my child wear to class?
For ballet classes, girls should wear a leotard, tights, pink ballet slippers, and have their hair in a bun. Boys should wear a T-shirt, sweatpants, and black ballet slippers. For jazz and hip-hop classes, dancers may wear comfortable clothing of their choice.
Are there performance opportunities during the year?
Yes! We offer 3 large performances each season — our Holiday, Spring, and Summer performances — featuring all classes for dancers ages 3 and up.
What are your tuition and registration fees?
Tuition varies depending on class selection and program level. When you register through DanceStudio-Pro, all pricing and class details will be listed. There is also a $75 registration fee, which includes the costume fee.
